Year 1: A5 – Objects in Motion
A5.1 Equations of motion
Step One:
Learn
This is the first video in the series on Equations of Motion from the Mechanics element of the A Level Mathematics course. The video is an introduction to motion of a particle and goes through definitions of the basic terms. Key idea is the difference between a vector quantity and a scalar quantity.
This is the second video in the series on Equations of Motion, from the mechanics element of the A level maths course. In the video we look at displacement-time and velocity-time graphs and use them to solve problems.
The third video in the series on equations of motion. This video introduces the all important SUVAT equations for calculating motion of a particle with constant acceleration. It begins by showing where the equations come from, and then goes through some worked examples so viewers can see how to use and apply the equations in a range of contexts.
Step Two:

A5.2 Variable acceleration
Step One:
Learn
This first video on Variable acceleration introduces techniques for dealing with situations where acceleration is not constant i.e. SUVAT no longer works.
